Hello World II

Hi all, Ken Hughes here. I've lucky enough to be involved with St. Ita's Hospital Radio since it's transition period in the early 90 when Tom took over the reigns (very seasonal eh :) ).

I'm a technician by training since 1995 and my many years in radio have served me well in attaining those qualifications. While I love to broadcast when I can, my work dictates that I'm not as free to do this as I'd like. However I do keep my hand in by helping Tom with the maintaining of the studio and transmission equipment.

Thanks to Toms enthusiasm and ou terrific collection of volunteers St. Ita's has become one of the best run and equipped stations in Ireland, even in comparison with some of the local stations. Our common interest in technology and radio means we've implemented many technological ideas well in advance of the commercial stations. A fact we at St. Ita's are very proud of.

In the coming year I hope to have more time to devote to the station and the IHRN and become involved in helping other stations achieve what we at St. Ita's have.

I look forward very much to meeting you all in the new year at the training seminars currently being organised by the IHRN - Thanks Tom & Mick - and please feel free to contact me with any requests for help. I'll assist if I can.

Happy Christmas and a successful new year to all.

Ken
